Health By Design is a manufacturer and distributor of ergonomic furniture, office products and therapy devices designed to improve posture and promote wellness. Most of our products were developed by practicing clinical professionals. The company was founded in 1998 by Eileen Vollowitz, a physical therapist specializing in orthopedics and occupational health.
Our Story
A message from our founder
I founded Health By Design to manufacture a single product: The Bambach Saddle Seat. This innovative seat was developed nearly 17 years earlier by my colleague Mary Gale, an Australian occupational therapist. At the time, conventional seating manufacturers were reluctant to invest in an unknown concept. I took on North American manufacturing and distribution with enthusiasm. Other novel products followed, and so this little business has grown.
